Parkville, MO – The Parkville Economic Development Council is pleased to announce that a groundbreaking ceremony has been scheduled for a new development to be located at the southeast corner of Highway 9 and 6th Street in downtown Parkville. The public is invited to attend the event that will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the property.
Six at Park will be a four-story, 54,000 square foot Class-A office building that will be used for offices and service-based businesses. The development is a $9.8 million project and will provide 163 parking spaces for up to 130 employees. It is estimated to generate up to 224 full-time positions. In addition, free public parking will be available after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and all day on holidays and weekends.
Construction is anticipated to be completed in October 2019, with occupancy projected by Thanksgiving 2019. Currently, 45 percent of the space has been leased to three tenants and around 24,000 square feet are still available.
Steve Foutch said “We believe downtown Parkville is a fabulous environment to live/work/play and hope this new energy and employee count will help sustain a hidden gem in the Northland, meaning downtown Parkville, as well as Park University. Being adjacent to the University is synergistic for their students and our employment base, as well as access to the athletic events and university culture.”
President Gunderson, of Park University, said “Every time I drive into Parkville on Highway 9, I am reminded of the city’s support of Park University. I am pleased that Park has the opportunity to support Parkville’s efforts for continued economic growth through the lease of property to the City and Foutch Brothers Six.”
Parkville Economic Development Council Board of Directors Chair Brad Kleindl said “The 6 at Park project is a wonderful example of how well the Parkville community works together to advance our community. The project required the cooperation of Park University, Foutch Brothers, the City of Parkville and the Parkville Economic Development Council. This project will see Foutch Brothers relocate their offices to the facility, as well as attracting other Class-A office users directly adjacent to our downtown. The 6 at Park project is just one example of the impact that the Parkville Economic Development Council is having on our community. We are proud of Parkville and the support we receive for economic development.”
Parkville Mayor Nan Johnston said “We are thrilled to have the Foutch Brothers Headquarters and additional office tenants near our downtown area. The increase in downtown activity will be beneficial to our merchants and restaurants.”
“We’re excited to not only have Foutch Brothers creating new Class-A office space next to our historic downtown Parkville, but to also be relocating their offices here. It’s fantastic that they will be partnering with Parkville’s own Level Builders on the construction,” said Parkville Economic Development Council Executive Director Nathan BeVelle. “The increased employee traffic will be great for our downtown and Main Street companies.”
